Data Manager / biostatistician

Data manager ensures data management throughout the life cycle of a study, guaranteeing their quality, integrity and security.

Biostatistician plays a key role in the design, analysis and interpretation of scientific data, particularly in the fields of medical research.

Data manager pilots and updates the clinical database of patients in the hematology department of Lyon Sud Hospital. He/she ensures the quality, consistency and reliability of data, by carrying out regular checks and correcting any inconsistencie.

Using tools such as Excel and Access, he/she extracts and processes data to meet the needs of doctors and industrial developers as part of various projects. He/she is also responsible for entering data from source files and monitoring associated procedures.

As a central referent on the database, the Data Manager participates in numerous projects, answers questions related to the extracted data and contributes to declarations to the CNIL and CPPs in connection with the department’s projects.

He/she plays a key role in communicating with team members (doctors, international partners), while guaranteeing the confidentiality of process information.

Biostatistician helps design studies, epidemiological surveys, and other types of research to ensure that data collected are valid and reliable. He/she uses statistical techniques to analyze collected data, identify trends, correlations and significant differences.
