Biological sample management technician

The role of the biological sample management technician is to prepare samples (blood, tissues, etc.) from patients suffering from hematologic malignancies so that they can be sent and then analyzed by a reference laboratory chosen by the sponsor (centralized laboratory) . He has a transversal role by collaborating with CRAs and healthcare staff (doctors and nurses) on several clinical trials.

The biological sample management technician ensures the preparation and management of samples (blood, tissues, etc.) from patients suffering from hematological malignancies for their sending to a centralized laboratory designated by the sponsor. He/she collaborates closely with CRAs and healthcare staff (doctors and nurses) on several clinical trials.

He/she is responsible for collecting, preparing, storing and shipping samples, in compliance with established procedures. He/she handles sensitive substances such as dry ice or category B biological products while applying Good Clinical Practices (GCP) to guarantee traceability and confidentiality of data.

He/she manages stocks by anticipating needs and monitoring expiration dates and attends implementation meetings. Continuous communication with team members is essential to ensure smooth operations.
